Based in Gunnison, Utah, Kathleen Carnes has been part of Centro de la Familia since 2000. She holds a degree in Sociology from Snow College with a special emphasis on Psychology, Human Development/Behavior, Corrections, Criminology, and Criminal Justice.

Kathleen is certified as a First Aid, CPR, and AED Instructor, as well as a Certified Playground Inspector through both NPPS and NRPA. Before joining Centro, she worked with the Utah Department of Corrections and South Sanpete School District, including time as contract staff at the Central Utah Correctional Facility.

Over the years, Kathleen has served in a variety of roles at Centro, including Office Manager and Center Manager at the Gunnison Head Start Center, Senior Center Support Specialist, and now Senior Health and Safety Specialist.

Her professional achievements include receiving the Varsity Experience Award from Snow College, the Citizen’s Award of Commendation from the Utah Department of Corrections, and recognition on the National Dean’s List.

Outside of work, Kathleen enjoys carpentry, photography, and crochet.
