As a former military dependent and the spouse of a 20-year Navy veteran, she understands firsthand the importance of adaptability, cultural awareness, and strong community support, particularly within the context of education. This understanding fuels her advocacy for the transformative power of Head Start. Her inspiration began 16 years ago with her twin daughters, who flourished as Head Start students despite facing early developmental hurdles due to premature birth. Their success, a direct result of dedicated educators and engaged parental involvement, solidified her belief in the program’s life-changing potential. She has since dedicated her career to supporting young children and their families, initially as an Educational and Developmental Specialist. Now, as the Center Support Specialist for Centro in Nevada, she brings a unique perspective informed by both personal experience and professional training—holding a Bachelor’s in Human and Social Services and a Master’s in Human Service Counseling. She is committed to ensuring all children receive the strong start they deserve.
