    Under the leadership of the Lead Teacher and Education Specialist, administers a program of early childhood education that is developmentally, linguistically & culturally appropriate; meets the individual & holistic needs of infants and toddlers; and works closely with parents and families to ensure they are intentionally included in the planning & execution of their child’s education. Works as a team member with other staff, parents, and volunteers. Directly involved in providing meals and snacks to children. Assumes Teacher duties in the temporary absence of the Teacher. Qualifications: A current CDA credential appropriate to the age of the children served, or currently enrolled in a CDA credential, or a State-awarded certificate for preschool teachers that meets or exceeds the requirements for a CDA credential, or an Associate,Baccalaureate or advanced degree in early childhood education, or related field, with experience in teaching preschool children. Actively recruits to meet and maintain funded enrollment throughout the program year.   • Providence: Bus Driver

    Under the supervision of the Lead Bus Driver, this position is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transport of children and parents/families between program activities and home and on field trips. This position is also responsible to keep the vehicle clean and in safe operating conditions always. Qualifications: The minimum requirement is high school diploma or GED and a current in-state Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a School Bus and Passenger endorsement and/or other criteria specifically required by the state.  CPR and 1st Aide Certification.   • Genola: Education Specialist

    Under the direction of the Area Manager, monitors and supervises the Head Start education services in the center. Ensures that such services are comprehensive, culturally relevant, and developmentally appropriate in a learning environment that maximizes opportunities for each child’s physical, emotional, social and cognitive growth; guides curriculum and assessment fidelity including data collection and analysis; supports professional development and training; and ensures teachers support parents in their role as the child’s first teacher. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or a related field, with emphasis or experience in special education, social work, or psychology.  Three years management and/or group process experience preferred.   • Salt Lake City: Transportation and Facilities Assistant

    Under the direction of the Transportation & Facilities Manager and Area Managers, supports the management of the transportation and facilities components for the centers, assist in running all aspects of the transportation, maintenance, and safety component areas of the centers in accordance with the Head Start Act, Head Start Performance Standards, applicable laws and regulations, state licensing guidelines, and national best practices. Qualifications: High School diploma with some college highly preferred. Some experience with facilities and transportation management. Experience with working with and following federal guidelines. Class B CDL with school bus, passenger and air brake endorsements highly preferred.   • Salt Lake City (Main Office) Sr. Child & Family Mental Health Speciali...

    Responsibilities: Work under the direction of the Head Start Director. Work with the Health Manager, Developmental Services Manager, and Area Managers to develop, implement, and coordinate mental health services to children and families. Make regular in-person observations and assessments at the Head Start centers. Meet with parents and the child’s developmental team to discuss and develop individual plans for children. Provide training on mental health and social-emotional well being to parents and staff. Provide emergency counseling, treatment, and referrals. Qualifications: Degree and current license in Psychiatry, Psychology, Psychiatric Nursing, Marriage and Family Counseling, Clinical Social Work, or related field. Be bilingual in Spanish and English. Have 3+ years experience working with young children and families. Be familiar with culturally relevant services for Hispanic children and families. Be able to assess and offer treatment in the areas of child behavior management and family crisis. Other Requirements: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to stoop, bend, and perform other actions commonly associated with caring for young children and infants. Pass a Background Criminal Investigation (BCI). Ability to travel to centers throughout the service area. Have a good driving record, reliable transportation, auto insurance, and driver’s license.     Responsible for outreach and promotion of educational opportunities with the Spanish speaking community. Supports staff in the recruitment, retaining, and advocacy of program services. Assists with program(s) needs assessment of families. Qualification: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in social work or related field. 3-5 experience work with underprivileged children and adults including recruitment, instruction, record keeping and reporting; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.     Responsible for overseeing a Head Start Center's Food Services. Ensures compliance with all appropriate Local, State and Federal regulations pertaining to the Food Services component. This position is responsible for the ordering, preparing, serving and documenting of meals and snacks. It includes following menus and all phases of kitchen operations including inventory control. The position contributes to the smooth operations and functioning of the kitchen in adherence to health and food safety codes and the strict cleanliness of the kitchen and food service and storage areas. The position may prepare foods for infants and toddlers and/or preschool children following the USDA/CACFP standards.
