When asked why she has continued to serve with Centro after 17 years Laura replied, “I stay for the families and the children we serve because I was there. I was on their side. I’ve been there. So that’s my reward and not only because I’m Latina but to be able to help mi gente, mi raza, that for me is rewarding.”
Child Development Associate (CDA)
Centro is dedicated to providing early childhood caregivers and teachers with the tools necessary to nurture and enhance children’s emotional, physical, social, and intellectual development. As the most widely recognized Early Childhood Education (ECE) credential, obtaining a CDA not only increases the quality of childhood education within the community but also opens the doors of opportunity to teachers journey in the ECE field.
