  • Education and Development Specialist

    Wage Range: $16.01 - $22.02

    Under the direction of the Area Manager, manages the Head Start education and developmental services in the center. Ensures that such services are comprehensive, culturally relevant, and developmentally appropriate in a learning environment that maximizes opportunities for each child’s physical, emotional, social and cognitive growth. Ensures teachers support parents in their role as the child’s first teacher.  Manage all aspects of the education and disabilities services in the center(s) in accordance with the Head Start Act, Head Start Performance Standards, developmentally appropriate practices, early childhood education and special education best practices, and the CDLF’s School Readiness Plan. One-time $1,000.00 bonus payable after 60 days of employment.
    Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or related field, with emphasis or experience in special education, social work, or psychology. Three years’ management and/or group process experience. Bilingual English Spanish required. Physical requirements included extended periods of time sitting or standing, ability to lift 50 lbs., ability to stoop, bend, crawl and perform other actions commonly associated with caring for young children and infants.

  • Substitute Bus Driver

    Wage Range: $18.46 - $24.46

    Under the supervision of the Lead Bus Driver, this position is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transport of children and parents/families between program activities and home and on field trips. This position is also responsible to keep the vehicle clean and in safe operating conditions always.
    Qualifications: High school diploma or GED, current in-state Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a School Bus and Passenger endorsement and/or other criteria specifically required by the state. CPR and First Aid Certification required. Bilingual preferred English/Spanish.  This is a substitute position, not eligible for benefits.

  • Teacher - Early Head Start (Infant/Toddler)

    Wage Range: $15.75 - $19.76

    Under the supervision of the Education Specialist, administers a program of early childhood education that is developmentally, linguistically & culturally appropriate; meets the individual & holistic needs of infants and toddlers; plans and implements learning experiences that ensure effective curriculum implementation and use of assessment to help promote children’s developmental progression; and works closely with parents and families to ensure they are intentionally included in the planning & execution of their child’s education. Works as a team member with other staff, parents, and volunteers.
    Qualifications: Child Development Associate (CDA) or comparable credential, with a focus on infant and toddler development. Bilingual English-Spanish preferred.

    Under the supervision of the Education Specialist, administers a program of early childhood education that is developmentally, linguistically & culturally appropriate; meets the individual & holistic needs of preschool aged children; plans and implements learning experiences that ensure effective curriculum implementation and use of assessment to help promote children’s developmental progression; and works closely with parents and families to ensure they are intentionally included in the planning and execution of their child’s education. Works as a team member with other staff, parents, and volunteers.
    Qualifications: Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field; with experience in teaching preschool-age children. Bilingual English-Spanish preferred.

  • Teacher Assistant

    Wage Range: $15.75 - $18.60

    Under the supervision of the Education Specialist and the leadership of the Preschool Teacher, administers a program of early childhood education that is developmentally, linguistically & culturally appropriate; meets the individual & holistic needs of preschool aged children; assists the preschool teacher implement the curriculum. Works as a team member with other staff, parents, and volunteers. Assumes Preschool Teacher duties in the temporary absence of the Preschool Teacher.
    Qualifications: Child Development Associate (CDA), a degree in early childhood education, or enrollment in a program that will result in a CDA or college degree within two years of hire. Bilingual English-Spanish preferred.
