  • Salt Lake City: Accounting Manager

    Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, responsible for the operation and training of the accounting department.  Supervise and coordinate the activities of accounting.  Learn accounting software in-depth. Monitor and supervise the recording of transactions in the Agency’s accounting system, specifically, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, journal entries and general ledger maintenance.  Supervise payroll accounting and use of payroll software system.  Develop internal control systems, policies and procedures in accordance with professional accounting practices and government regulations.  Prepare monthly and annual budget.  Prepare and submit financial reports as required by all funding sources.  Prepare detail analysis of budget projections, meets regularly with managers to discuss budgets and fiscal needs.  Provide fiscal training when needed. Qualifications:CPA preferred. Bachelor's degree (B. A.) or advanced degree in accounting, required.  Three (3) years of related work experience, preferred.  One year experience in a supervisory capacity preferred.  Experience with Fund Accounting and accounting software in a Non-profit environment preferred.  Experience with information systems and software reporting. Experience with Microsoft software, including SharePoint and PowerBI. Knowledge of FundEZ accounting software and Payrolls software a plus.  Having a working knowledge of GAAP is a must.  Knowledge of non-profit accounting and Head Start rules would be helpful.  Strong information systems background. Able to work independent and able to be consistent.  Must have experience with operating computer equipment, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office suite, as well as successful experience with automated accounting systems.  Must be reliable and organized, able to work under pressure, and accurate in record keeping.  Must have interpersonal skills to meet public and work with staff.  Must be able to travel occasionally.     Under the supervision of the center Education Specialist, possesses the ability and willingness to provide assistance to various areas as assigned. Primary duties will be assisting in the classroom, on the playground, and other areas around the center to ensure health, safety and promote school readiness. Secondary duties may include support to the cook, office manager, family service specialist, and disabilities specialist. Qualifications: The minimum requirement is that the individual be 18 years of age.  This is an entry-level position requiring no previous education or experience.     Under the direction of the Health & Nutrition Manager, assists with coordinating the Health and Nutrition component area to ensure the effective delivery of services to children and families. Ensures that such services are comprehensive and culturally relevant to maximize opportunities for each child’s physical and mental growth and well-being.

    Qualification: Enrolled in a Health-related major from an accredited university required. Bachelor’s degree or higher in nursing, public health or related field preferred.
