  • Salt Lake City: Health and Nutrition Assistant (Part Time)

    Under the direction of the Health & Nutrition Manager, assists with coordinating the Health and Nutrition component area to ensure the effective delivery of services to children and families. Ensures that such services are comprehensive and culturally relevant to maximize opportunities for each child’s physical and mental growth and well-being.

    Enrolled in a Health-related major from an accredited university required. Bachelor’s degree or higher in nursing, public health or related field preferred. One year of experience in health & nutrition desired. Bilingual Spanish-English required. Physical requirements include extended periods of time sitting or standing, ability to lift 50 lbs., ability to stoop, bend, crawl and perform other actions commonly associated with caring for young children and infants and visiting with families in agricultural environments.

  • Salt Lake City: Education Specialist Assistant (Part Time)

    Overview

    Under the direction of the Education Manager, assist with the education component for the CDLFU Head Start program to ensure the effective delivery of services to children. Provide assistance to ensure that such services are comprehensive, culturally relevant, and developmentally appropriate in a learning environment that maximizes opportunities for each child’s physical, emotional, social and cognitive growth. Ensure parents are supported in their role as the child’s first teacher.

    Qualifications

    Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or related field, with emphasis or experience in special education, social work, or psychology, required, Bachelor’s degree preferred. Management and/or group process experience preferred. Bilingual English-Spanish preferred. Physical requirements may include extended periods of time sitting or standing, ability to lift 50 lbs., ability to stoop, bend, crawl and perform other actions commonly associated with caring for young children and infants.

    Responsible for general human resources administrative functions, wage scale studies,  including payroll and benefits.

    Qualification: AA in Business Administration, Accounting or human resource related field and one year related work experience preferred; or, HS/GED and five years of progressively more responsible experience in successful operation in payroll and human resource functions.  Must be familiar with current labor laws and human resource practices.

  • Early Childhood Education Coach

    Under the direction of the Education Director, assist with CDLFU’s implementation of Practice-Based Coaching (PBC) by providing intensive coaching with teachers to help improve and refine teaching practices associated with positive child outcomes for children.

    Qualifications: Baccalaureate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field with adequate training and experience in adult learning and in using assessment data to drive coaching strategies. Ability to work and communicate effectively with English and Spanish speakers. Physical requirements may include extended periods of time sitting or standing, ability to lift 50 lbs., ability to stoop, bend, crawl and perform other actions commonly associated with caring for young children and infants.   • Bus Aide (Salt Lake Area)- Part Time

    Under the supervision of the Bus Driver, possess the ability and willingness to assist in various areas as assigned. Primary duties will be to ensure the health and safety of the children on the bus.

    Qualifications: 

    The minimum requirement is that the individual be 18 years of age. This is an entry-level position requiring no previous education or experience. HS/GED is highly preferred. Current and former Early Head Start and Head Start parents will receive preference for employment vacancies for which they are qualified. CDA or AA in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred. Current CPR, First Aid, and Food Handler’s permit required. Must be able to work with children with special needs and children with limited or no English. Bilingual  Spanish/English preferred. Physical requirements include extended periods of walking, standing, kneeling, and crouching; the ability to lift and move 50 pounds;

    Overview

    Under the direction of the Transportation Specialist and the assigned Area Manager, the Bus Lead must follow all applicable job responsibilities listed under Bus Driver. Additionally, the Lead Bus Driver has the following responsibilities listed under transportation duties, facilities duties, and other duties. This is full time position with benefits.

    Qualifications

    The minimum requirement is high school diploma or GED and a current in-state Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a School Bus and Passenger endorsement and/or other criteria specifically required by the state.  CPR and 1st Aide Certification. Bilingual preferred English/Spanish.
